Free, evidence-based tools and articles to help you make sense of fertility care — whether you’re just starting to think about it or already mid-cycle.
These tools are here solely to help you stay informed throughout your journey. They are 100% free and confidential, and we will not use or in any way share whatever you put into them.
What Obi is, how it works, and what it costs.
You can call us different things – a care coordination platform, a clinic network, a patient support tool. What we “are” is less important than what we “do.” And what we do is two specific things. 1. We give patients 100% free support in their fertility journey. We help them navigate insurance, understand their treatment options, and questions they have at 11:00 at night. 2. We connect fertility clinics with local OBGYNs so patients can get amazing fertility care without having to leave town.
During fertility treatment, a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist (REI) will design your protocol and then check in on how your body is responding in case they need to adjust anything. The way they check on your body’s response is by measuring your hormone levels with a blood test and your follicle growth with a transvaginal ultrasound. For most patients, that means going to your fertility clinic in person. That could be seven visits in a single two week cycle. For a 7:00am appointment. At a clinic three hours away. We think there’s a better way. That better way is through local OBGYNs. When your REI needs a blood test or an ultrasound, we tell your OBGYN, so their team can do the testing. We then deliver the results to your OBGYN. This way, the results are traveling, not you.
No, and we don’t impact the medical care you get from a clinic - we just enable it. We set up connections with existing fertility clinics across the country, so you can get the care you want from the clinic you choose. We set up local testing for you and your clinic, and we make the treatment journey a little less challenging by staying in your corner for questions, support in making decisions, and more.
Nothing. At Obi, we think fertility care is too expensive already. Our partner clinics pay us to set up and maintain connections with OBGYNs and ensure high quality and real-time responses, so we can keep supporting patients at no cost.
Is Obi right for me?
+
Maybe! Our goal is to make fertility care easier to access and manage. The truth is, some people have an easier path – they might live five minutes away from a clinic that they’re actively excited about, have great insurance, and a simple clinical history. While we’re happy to help anyone, if that sounds like you, you’ll probably be really well-served by your local clinic. However, if you don’t live next to a clinic that you are excited about and can easily get to, if you are not sure what you should do for treatment, if you think cost might be tough to work through alone, then Obi just might be right for you. If you want to find out for sure, you can book a call with our team, any time, at no cost.
Ok, but am I eligible? Is this for all fertility patients?
+
Obi has no restrictions on who we support. Some of the clinics we partner with may have their own requirements, such as age or insurance type, but so long as you qualify for treatment with any of our clinics you qualify to use Obi.
Do I need to have a fertility clinic in mind?
+
No. We will discuss your goals and help you choose a clinic that’s right for you.
What if I don’t like any of the clinics you work with?
+
We’re adding new clinics regularly, and often those new clinics are added to better serve patient needs. If our current clinics don’t work for you and your goals, we’ll discuss why, and then go find new clinic options for you.
What if I do have a clinic in mind?
+
Great! If that clinic already works with Obi, we can get started immediately. If not, we’ll ask for your permission to approach that clinic on your behalf. We can’t guarantee a connection, but we’ll work to get your chosen clinic onto the Obi platform so that you can have them manage your care while staying close to home for your testing.
Where is Obi available?
+
We are available in all fifty states. At this time, we are only available in the United States.
Do only OBGYNs do my local testing?
+
Staff at OBGYN clinics, such as phlebotomists or sonographers, typically perform the testing. Today, all of our testing partners are OBGYN practices or labs like Quest and Labcorp.
Is my information secure?
+
Yes. We will treat all of your data in accordance with HIPAA, always. You can read more about how we handle any data in our privacy policy.
